Mission Statement: “DMUUC is a multi-cultural and welcoming congregation of loving persons which perpetuates the vision of A. Powell Davies, and works to: encourage spiritual growth of adults and children; affirm individual dignity; explore truth and meaning in life; reach out to the community and work toward a just and sustainable world.”

Many Unitarian Universalists were not born to this faith but come to it as part of a personal journey of discovery. Others are raised in the faith tradition and build on a lifetime devoted to Unitarian Universalist values. Whatever your path, we welcome you as a friend and invite you to share your journey with us.

Membership is open to any person who wishes to follow Unitarian Universalist practices, and who embraces the Seven Principles of our faith. To join, you’ll start by getting acquainted with the congregation through multiple visits, participate in a one-time class on our faith tradition, sign our membership book, and make a contribution of record. If you’ve been a regular visitor and are ready to sign the membership book, please speak with our minister.

The ease with which a person may join our church speaks to our values of intellectual freedom and our universal embrace of our fellow human beings. To continue that work also requires the sharing of our skills, our labor, our care for one another, and our financial generosity. Membership denotes a willingness to be identified with Unitarian Universalist principles and a commitment illustrated through both speech and action.

The Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church (DMUUC) is democratically run. The members of the Board of Trustees are elected at our annual congregational meeting and act as our representatives. They meet monthly and meetings are open to all.

Our Vision:

We are a diverse spiritual community advancing the principles and ideals of the Unitarian Universalist tradition.

Our Covenant of Right Relations:

We, the members of Davies Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church, covenant with each other to create a strong and vital religious community:

We promise to honor the varieties of spiritual seeking among us, affirming the free church tradition that recognizes there are many ways to what is right and true.

We will live by the Unitarian Universalist seven principles, which begin by affirming human worth and dignity.

We affirm the DMUUC vision of a multiracial, multicultural, and multigenerational congregation in which we treat each other with care and respect as we also express these values in the larger community.

We promise to listen, offering opportunities to share our stories, truths, and concerns.

We will support each other as we face both the sorrows and the joys we encounter in our life journeys.

We pledge to participate in the activities of this church, offering our presence, our talents, our passions, and our resources.

To the end of forming a congregation of love and hope, we covenant with each other.

DMUUC is financially self-supporting and entirely dependent upon the contributions made by its members and friends and through our fundraising events.
